Excel, Get KML File Properties, Google Earth API

This article will explain how you can get the different properties of a KML file in Excel. This includes properties such as:

  • Longitude
  • Latitude
  • Headin
  • Tilt
  • Range

Step 1:

Bring the Developer Ribbon.


Step 2:

Click on the Imports button:
Import


Step 3:

From the dialog that choose to display “All Files” and locate the .KML file:

Step 4:

Select Ok from the first dialog that opens and select the location to import the data from the second dialog that opens:

Select the location to import the data:
Import Location


Result:

In the figure below you can see the the data from the .KML file:

In columns M  to R you will find the longitude, Latitude, tilt, …. properties:
