Tekla Structures, Create Ties For Part of Column or Beam

Previously in the article Tekla Structures, Create Rectangular Tie Reinforcement I’ve explained how you can fill a column or beam with ties from one end to the other. In this article I will explain how you can create ties for only a part of the column or beam. For example:

  • 10 ties spaced at 100mm starting from the end
  • ties from the start to the middle of the column or beam

Step 1:

Create ties for the entire beam or column using the method explained in the article below:

You can select the tie spacing by double clicking the rebars. From the dialog that opens select the Group tab. From the  drop down list on the group tab you can select how to space the rebars:

Step 2:

Ungroup the rebars.


Step 3:

Select and delete the rebars you don’t need:

Delete:
Delete


Step 4:

Regroup the ties.
